
Gio Washington-Wright
Giovanni was born in the small town of Shelby,
Mississippi in 1970, but lived in nearby Rosedale until the age of ten. In 1980, he moved to Madison, Wisconsin, but
soon moved to Racine
where he graduated from high school in 1988. Giovanni is a Magna Cum Laude
graduate of University of Wisconsin - Madison with degrees in Psychology and English.
In 1994, Giovanni moved south where he earned a music degree from the University Of North Texas and was a member of the Two
O’Clock Lab Band. Giovanni has also studied at Fort
Hays State,
Columbia, and
Harvard Universities.
As a woodwind artist, studio musician, and composer, Giovanni
has either performed with or written music for such artists as U.S. Army Jazz
Ambassadors, The Jimmy Dorsey Orchestra, Ricky Martin, Gladys Knight, Three Dog
Night, Sam Moore, Red Skelton, and many others. He is now the owner of
Jivepatrol Music, Inc. in Carrollton, Texas and a woodwind instructor for the Carroll Independent
School District in Southlake, Texas.
In his spare time, Giovanni is the musical director, arranger, and lead alto
saxophonist for the Tuxedo Junction and White Chapel Methodist big bands, both
of Southlake, Texas.
He and his family currently reside in Carrollton
(Dallas), Texas.
