Jerry Hey Solos

This page is dedicated exclusively to Jerry's recorded solos. Enjoy! - GW.

Gio's personal favorites are "He Loves You", "Enchanted Dance", "The Hornet", "Pensando", and "Samba Dese Days".

Again, I have to thank my new friend Arndt Rubart in Germany for this audio. This guy may even be a bigger JH fan than me! - GW

Mike Melvoin / "Redeye"

I have to thank Arndt in Germany for this RARE gem. What I love about this clip is that neither one of them is giving an inch. Although Chuck is known  for being a world-class jazz player, Jerry gives him a run for his money. Who wins? I'll leave that up to you!

These are two unheralded gems! Both solo are from movie soundtracks -- and both occur only in the extended versions of the songs. The "I've Had The Time Of My Life" solo was edited out for radio play (BTW, GREAT tenor solo right before it by studio legend Gary Herbig). The "Sweet Freedom" solo was right at the end of a 7+ minute version from the soundtrack. - GW
